This Week’s Big News

This week we have many deadlines for you to keep up with, here’s whats been going on:

Friday 16 March is the final deadline for the Prolific North Awards, an event that recognises the outstanding campaigns and talent in the creative and media industries across the North. Join over 800 of the industries leading professionals from across the North on the night for a gala dinner, followed by the awards ceremony – the perfect opportunity to network and meet other companies from the same area. The PRCA DARE Awards first deadline is today! We’re on the hunt for the very best Communications and PR professionals across the UK. Does this sound like you? You have until midnight tonight to get your entries in for a chance to win one of the awards up for grabs. The awards are open to all involved in the use of PR for communications purposes, including; PR consultancies, in-house communications teams, digital agencies, marketing teams and media owners. Here at the Don’t Panic Speaker Bureau we always aim to give you what you want, and who you want. So, as always we’ve been busy lining up new speakers for you to hear and plenty of events for them to attend.

This week we have two new additions to our bureau, and we can’t wait for you to meet them.

Claire Lomas Since her freak accident in the highest level of eventing, Claire has found new sports including skiing, set up a business, written a book and organised fundraising events. Her life has been turned around, but it did have one similarity, she was busy again. Claire speaks publicly about the split second that changed her life, and candidly describes the darkest times alongside the gradual process of turning her situation around, and surprisingly how the best five days of her life have all been after her devastating injury. Richard Charles Lawrence From the height of conflict with the Taliban to studying a masters degree in Philosophy. Richard has gone from successfully solving complex problems on the battlefield to a qualified hypnotherapist, an award-winning salesman in the pharmaceutical industry and a chief instructor of the martial art ‘Keysi’. This Wednesday, our judges gathered to determine this year’s Educate North Awards finalists that were announced yesterday. You can view the full shortlist here.
